Yesterday I went to have a look at the newly re-opened Holburne Museum.
Its extension designed by Eric Parry has been the subject of much angst for some Bath residents but I’m so pleased it was finally allowed to be built as he intended. It sits beautifully in its surroundings and the controversially dark ceramic cladding is a lovely thing in itself as well as being an important part of the finished building.
The extension is a real success internally too I think – the new space opens up the original building without treading on its toes.
