— Book Covers Revisited

All of the books featured within this post have been around for many years and these designs represent publishers challenge in offering them to us afresh. I particularly like the ‘slice of cake’ approach adopted for the Oliver Sacks and Stephen Jay Gould editions.

The side-on type and retro feel of the relaunched James M Cain editions are also especially evocative, and the Kafka graphics/illustrations just unusual and all the more appealing for it.

These are all American editions and I shall cast my eye around for similar relaunch design for books published in the UK.
