I have been lost in research for one of The English Group’s clients and one post in particular, that was posted by dancer Karen Ruimy, caught my eye. The strikingly sculpted ballet dancer Sylvie Guillem is both supremely talented and, also, an interesting subject for the camera.
Sylvie Guillem was born in 1965 in Paris and was the top-ranking female dancer with the Paris Opera Ballet from 1984 to 1989, before becoming a principal guest artist with the Royal Ballet in London. Her most notable performances have included those in Giselle and in Rudolf Nureyev’s stagings of Swan Lake and Don Quixote.
Not only does she dance, but she also has an eye for art and photography, and has posed for many top photographers who admire her outstanding physique and presence in front of the camera.
Below is also an image of her book which showcases some beautiful photography of her.
The images with the camera are shot by Sylvie herself from French Vogue February 2004.
