Fogo Island Inn is a five star hotel situated on a sparse island just off the coast of the Newfoundland and Labrador in Canada.
You can see some of our previous Fogo Island architecture posts here, here and here.Designed by Saunders Architecture and completed in 2013, the 29-room contemporary inn uses wood from the surrounding area as its main material, maintaining the island’s economic and cultural survival but also making the building feel like a timeless piece of Fogo’s architecture.
As well as stunning views from all the rooms, the Fogo Inn features a stunning restaurant with food by one of Canada’s best chefs, a library, a small cinema, and an independent art gallery. At the very top of the building, guests are treated to a sauna and spa facility with breathtaking scenery. Suites are priced between $550 CAD (approx. £325) and $2,350 CAD (approx. £1,400) per night.
