— The Thorncrown Chapel

Designed by architect E. Fay Jones, an apprentice of Frank Lloyd Wright, The Thorncrown Chapel is located amongst the forests of Eureka Springs in Arkansas and is open to anyone who wants to use it, whether for weddings, Sunday services, or just to sit and think. Featuring over 6,000 square feet of glass, the chapel soars to a height of 48 feet and has won awards for its “organic architecture” philosophy – promoting the harmonious relationship between human habitation and the natural world. In just 30 years, over six million people have visited this spectacular space, using it daily for both religious and non-religious reasons, but the building remains as fresh and contemporary as when it was first opened, with striking criss-crossing beams and bright blue pews.
