An illustration by Christopher Dresser from Studies In Design, Ornament In The Arabian Style (an 1876 lithograph).

Details from an 1877 mosaic mural from Prisse d’Avens, Mosquée d’El-Bordeyny.

From Karl Gerstner’s 1986 book ‘The Forms Of Colour; The Interaction Of Visual Elements’.
