The English Group: Completed Project

Here’s a first look at the large-format commemorative book The English Group has produced to celebrate the launch of the South Bank Tower development on London’s South Bank.

The book produced with C.I.T., Futurecity and Magnum Photos showcases a stunning essay of photography by Steve McCurry. His camera has been pointed towards the many artists and artisans that enrich the local community alongside a parallel essay of the places within which they ply their trades.

It’s always an honour to work on projects such as this and to yet again have an opportunity to use craftsmanship printing – by Opal Print in this case – to bring the project to life.

The 380mm x 300mm book is quarterbound in fine linen, foil-blocked and gilt-edged, with a portrait of the poet Lemn Sissay MBE on the cover, and is printed on a mix of finest uncoated and coated papers sourced from GF Smith. The book is then packaged into a handmade Solander box which has a double-bdebossed cover and tipped-in image.

Do check out the images in the large-view lightbox mode (using the magnifier in the bottom right corner of each images).
