— Annemarie Busschers

Just a few examples of the incredible work of Annemarie Busschers.

From the s-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands, her work also belongs to the Dutch tradition of reproducing the subject matter with utter detail.

Not psychological portraits, like Lucian Freud, the work is more scientific, microscopic – the surfaces of the body, the imperfect reproduced in many materials such as acrylic paint, pencil, pastel, epoxy, wood, wax, paper and felt. Portraits are therefore not only painted but also constructed by adding multiple layers onto the canvas.
