One of The English Group’s all-time stand-out projects is our design for the Limited Edition book, Jawhar, produced for the King of Morrocco.
The large format publication – designed by, written by and art directed and production managed by The English Group – was produced to commemorate the breaking ground ceremony for a new district in the Menara suburb of Marrakech. This new district, Jawhar, was planned to comprise luxury villas, five star hotels, boutique retail, as well as a new museum; and was positioned to become the Mayfair or Belgravia of Marrakech.
Whilst – as a consequence of day after day of rain – the finished book featured a stunning portfolio of black & white fine art photography (offering an idealised mind’s eye view of Marrakech), we also shot many beautiful colour images of this most evocative of cities and the images showcased here represent an early attempt to pin down a signature colour style for the project.
