Part of a broader research project (alongside The Quite Delightful Project print publications) to design a magazine for reading on iPads and mobile handsets.
This publication was targeted towards an adult readership perhaps best described as visually literate and culturally aware. the publication comprised articles calculated to contradict that old adage ‘topics not to be discussed at the dinner table’; namely sex, politics and religion. Articles were to be provocative and, as such, perfect fodder for discussions – or argument – around the type of dinner table we’d much prefer to be invited to.
As a consequence of the digital environment that the magazine was to be published onto, this was an exercise as much to do with UX – individual reader’s navigation through the publication’s content – as it was about design and page layout.
